The Game of Go
Although you should only need some black and white stones and a wooden board to play Go, the Game of Go is far more than that. Since it's not only a kinda "philosophy", you may need some "stuff" to play Go... such as those presented below.
"Lose your first 100 games as quickly as possible"

How to play Go?
Many different books and sites are introducing the (very few but not easy to combine) rules of Go. The following sites are pretty convenient, I think.

Software to play Go
They are 2 kind of Computer Resources you may use to play Go: standalone software and internet client software to connect with an online Go server (or a combination of both software types).
Compared to chess, Go is "too complex" to be played at a high level by an artificial intelligence. Thus the standalone clients aren't too strong for a beginner. An experienced player will like to play online, though.
The following links provide lists and descriptions of software related to the game of Go:

Many sites are hosting an online shop where you can purchase such an equipment. There is one of them:

Make your own Goban (Go game board)
Instead of buying one, you may prefer to "play with some peace of wood" and make your own Goban. It's not too difficult to achieve, particularly if you follow the detailled instructions provided on/by:
